AGGREGATE STATE, COMPOSITION, AND STRUCTURE OF THE PRODUCTS OF ELECTRICAL EROSION OF METALS,

Abstract

The possibility and probability for the formation of particles during erosion either from the liquid or vapor phase is investigated theoretically. The theoretical foundations of the problem are reviewed in detail. The tracks of the erosion particles offer valuable information concerning the state of aggregation, shape, dimensions, and distribution around the discharge center. The analysis of the tracks provided evidence that erosion products are in the liquid and vapor states and the ratio between them may vary. (Author)
