ON n-LINKING.

Abstract

The concept of n-linking of two simple closed curves in Euclidean 3-space is studied. n-linking serves as a measure of weakness of linking. Examples are given of curves which are n-linked but not (n-l)-linked. This research involved the use of a computer program for manipulation of the link groups. (Author)
