FRACTOGRAPHY, HARDENABILITY, AND PROPERTIES OF ALLOYS,

Abstract

Results of investigations of effect of alloying elements on the strength, ductility, susceptibility to brittle failure, hardenability, heat resistance and structure of iron, steel and cast iron are given. A fractographic study of material fracture and methods of temper brittleness investigation is presented and the relationship between material structure, thermomechanical treatment and material properties is described.
