STUDY OF CURBING TYPES SUITABLE FOR PERMANENT INSTALLATIONS IN NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND.

Abstract

The report contains the results of a study to determine: (a) the cause of deterioration of cast-in-place concrete curbing at Loring Air Force Base, Limestone, Maine and Presque Isle Air Force Base, Presque Isle, Maine; and (b) the types and relative costs of curbing most suitable for permanent installations in northern New England. The investigation included testing of representative cores from the deteriorated curbing; review of local, state, and Corps of Engineers experience with various types of curbing in New England; and cost studies of various conventional types of curbing.
