THE INVESTIGATION OF TURBINE-BLADE VIBRATIONS ON THE BASIS OF THE APPLIED THEORY OF TWISTED RODS OF AN ELONGATED PROFILE,

Abstract

A method for solving the problem of flexural-torsional vibrations of twisted blades based on the theory of B. F. Sharr is presented. The method was derived using an M-20 computer program. Taking into consideration the closeness of the natural frequencies of a rationally constructed discrete model to those of the original blade at a sufficiently small mass number, the discrete blade model was investigated assuming that its elastic properties coincide with those of the original blade. On the basis bar forms of vibrations, the vibration node lines on the blade were determined by the described method; these show a qualitatively good agreement with experimental data. The calculations revealed that on the basis of Sharr's theory of twisted bars, frequencies in the range of 6000-9000 Hz can be obtained for compressor blades with sufficient accuracy.
