ELECTROHYDRAULIC SPEED GOVERNOR FOR AN ENGINE,

Abstract

The patent describes an electrohydraulic speed governor for an engine, i.e. for a steam or a gas turbine, containing a three-phase synchronous generator with excitation from permanent magnets, suspended on the rotor of the controlled object and providing the power for all the electrical parts of the governor. The device also contains a speedometer and a speed adjuster which are connected to the input of a two cycle magnetic amplifier with a negative feedback whose output is connected to a transformer and a hydraulic servomotor. To ensure reliable regulator operation over a wide range of speed variations and continuous static irregular regulations, the speed adjuster is made in the form of a transformator with regulatable transformation ratio which is connected to the speedometer setting circuit, and a functional voltage transformer of the synchronous generator is connected to the bias circuit of the magnetic amplifier. To ensure high stability in a variation of this governor, one of the synchronous generator phases is connected to feed of all regulator measuring circuits and the other two phases are connected to the power circuit of the magnetic amplifier.
