A UNIT FOR THERMOMECHANICAL TESTS,

Abstract

The unit described is designed for testing by excess gas pressure the mechanical stability and endurance of laminated articles, for instance, aircraft vitrifications. The unit consists of a frame for fastening the tested articles and a heating device in the form of inertialess heating panels. To expand the temperature range of the tests, the unit is equipped with a cooling system supplied with a liquid coolant attached to the frame. Moreover, the unit has lifting mechanism which reacts to the frame and shifts it together with the tested articles, from the heater to the cooling system. The box-shaped frame has an elastic bottom and windows through which the tested articles are attached to the frame by adjustable screw supports.
