FATIGUE AND EMBRITTLEMENT OF METALLIC MATERIALS,

Abstract

The subjects covered include: methods of determining metal susceptibility to brittle fracture and the pattern of crack propagation under static and cyclic loads, the embrittling effect of cyclic loads, the influence of stress concentrators and fretting-corrosion on fatigue resistance, problems of developing materials with high resistance to crack propagation, and various aspects of elastic materials and their mechanical properties.
