THE PHYSICS OF THE COMBUSTION OF GASES, VOLUME 1,

Abstract

This is a monograph containing extensive theoretical and experimental material on the processes of combustion, thermal and chain explosion, chemical reactions in flow-through systems and high-temperature rapid flows, detonation waves, organization of combustion in jet engines etc. The book consists of seven chapters. Chapter I is devoted to the thermodynamic calculation of the products of combustion and the motion of equilibrium reactive gas mixtures. Chapter II contains deductions on the kinetics of various reactions, thermal and chain explosions, bulk exothermic reactions in flows, the processes of relaxation in gas mixtures and steady nonequlibrium flow gas. In Chapter III there is a discussion of the theoretical and experimental results on laminar flame-spreading in various conditions of combustion. (Author)
