SOVIET CYBERNETICS REVIEW. VOLUME 3, NUMBER 9, 1969,

Abstract

The issue features articles and photographs of computers displayed at the Automation-69 Exhibition in Moscow, especially the Mir-1 and Ruta-110. Also discussed are the Doza analog computer for radiological dosage; 'on-the-fly' output printers; other ways to increase computer speed and productivity; and the planned ultra-high-energy 1000-Bev synchrotron. Two articles give opposite approaches to the structuring of the State Network of Computer Centers, those of the Central Statistical Administration and of Gosplan. Other articles discuss the effects of automation on the work force; mathematical training and research; computers in economics; the Latvian Academy of Sciences research; and the Delphi method of scientific forecasting.
