AN ARITHMETIC UNIT OF A DIGITAL DIFFERENTIAL ANALYZER WITH SERIES-PARALLEL ACTION,
Abstract
An analysis of the main components in an arithmetic unit of a digital differential analyzer with a series-parallel action shows that this type of digital differential analyzer is feasible. The speed of operation is greater than that of a simple series-series analyzer, approaching that of a parallel-series analyzer. Furthermore, it is apparent that this type of digital differential analyzer requires much less equipment than the parallel-series type. These advantages make a digital differential analyzer especially suitable for use in control computers. (Author)
