LOCATING LUMBER DEFECTS BY ULTRASONICS.

Abstract

An ultrasonic scanning technique showed promise in locating lumber defects so they can be recorded precisely, as a step toward automated processing of lumber. As applied, the technique worked especially well with knots and steep grain. (Author)
