MODIFIED PROCEDURE FOR DETERMINATION OF PARTICULATES IN HYDRAULIC OIL,

Abstract

A study was made to develop a particle analysis procedure for hydraulic oil employing a microscope. The study resulted in improvement of techniques used in the chosen areas investigated: the chosen areas being sample bottle preparation, sampling, blank analysis, filtration techniques, and counting technique. Without lowering the accuracy of the analysis, the methods developed reduced the time needed to perform a complete analysis. (Author)
