QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS OF DISLOCATION DISTRIBUTIONS,

Abstract

A method is described for determining the distribution of dislocations in a metal from observations made by their film electron microscopy. The necessary conditions for the observed distribution to be representative of the bulk structure are given and the parameters derivable from the distribution are discussed in terms of bulk microstructural parameters directly related to the mechanical properties.
