CALCULATION OF THE NORMAL-STRESS DISTRIBUTION IN A CURVED WALL JET,

Abstract

A method was developed for calculating the distribution of the normal stress in a curved wall jet. The method is applicable to wall jets in both still air and moving streams. The method involves the determination of the local radius of curvature of the streamlines and then integration of the equation of motion in the direction normal to the streamlines. A comparison between some calculated and experimental results shows reasonable good agreement. (Author)
