PULSE MEASUREMENTS ON BULK InSb.

Abstract

The report describes measurements of current and voltage on InSb bars during pulses of about 10 nsec duration. The experiments were performed at 77 degrees K. The current-voltage characteristics shows a sudden reduction in voltage in the avalanche region at a certain current density. The main influence of a transverse magnetic field is to lower this threshold current. Also several jumps can occur at successively higher currents. (Author)
