THE INFLUENCE OF POROSITY ON THE DUCTILITY OF SINTERED BRASS.

Abstract

Although powder metallurgy products are in increasingly common usage, their mechanical properties are sparingly quoted. In particular, their ductilities are recognized as substantially less than equivalent metals and alloys of full density. The present research program has undertaken to identify the important factors characterizing void population which influence ductility and to place these in the context of recent work on ductile fracture.
