MECHANISM OF THE FORMATION OF SUPERRADIANCE IN PULSED DISCHARGE IN NEON AND ARGON (Mekhanizm Vozniknoveniya Sverkhsvetimosti pri Impulsnom Razryade v Neone i Argone),

Abstract

Superradiance in pulsed discharge in neon and argon has been investigated. A new line of superradiance in neon was discovered at 6266 A (transition 2P5-1S3). The dependence of superadiance on the neon pressure and voltage in the tube is investigated. It is shown that the basic mechanism of creating inversion in 2P-1S transitions in neon is stepwise excitation by electrons. Three new lines of superradiance were discovered in argon. (Author)
