WEATHER SATELLITES. VOLUME 1

Abstract

Capabilities and potentialities of weather satellites to detect meteorological parameters such as rain, temperature, cloud cover, and wind for weather-forecasting purposes are examined. Various types of equipment for meteorological uses and data-handling are evaluated and some improved procedures are considered. Photographic data on tropical cyclones (hurricanes and typhoons) derived principally from TIROS satellites comprise and important subject of research.
