DEVELOPMENT OF METEOROLOGICAL INSTRUMENTS

Abstract

Advances in meteorology during 50 years of Soviet rule are reviewed. Instruments developed for aerological studies, for measurement of the surface layer of the atmosphere, and special meteorological instruments developed for scientific research and for the national economy are discussed. Contributions of prominent Soviet scientists are outlined.
