A STUDY OF THE WIFE OF THE ARMY OFFICER: HER ACADEMIC AND CAREER PREPARATION, HER CURRENT EMPLOYMENT AND VOLUNTEER SERVICES

Abstract

The study was designed to explore the participation of the Army officer's wife in the areas of education, volunteer services, and employment, and the premise that there are certain characteristics of the military environment which might influence and modify that participation. The study focuses upon the wife's educational and career preparation, the utilization of that preparation in volunteer services and paid employment, and situational and environmental factors thought possibly to influence participation in these areas.
