THE INFLUENCE OF WELD DEFECTS AND REPAIR WELDS ON PERFORMANCE,
Abstract
The evaluation of a semi-empirical method for predicting the influence of weld defects on properties is described. Weld defects are shown to be very harmful to the fatigue properties of a weldment. The effect of weld repairs on properties are discussed, and the possibility of introducing severe defects during repair welding is considered. (Author)
