THE DYNAMICS OF RADAR ECHO DEVELOPMENT IN CUMULONIMBUS CLOUDS,

Abstract

Investigations on the development of radar echo from cumulonimbus clouds within a radius of 100 km were carried out at the experimental base at Voyeykovo in the summer of 1965 using a high sensitivity radar. The observations were conducted using N. F. Kotov's rational antenna elevation angle system based on the principle of the constancy of the relative deviation from the altitude of echo formation.
