MODIFIED METHOD FOR DETERMINING 51CR RED CELL VOLUME.

Abstract

A method is described for reducing the radiation dose by a factor of 10 or greater. Curves are presented which allow selection of a minimal exposure dose or sample size, at counting rates of 2,000 or 400 c.p.m. Twenty-eight days was the minimum time-interval, between repeated chromium-51 red cell volume determinations with a constant microcurie dose of 51Cr, which gives reproducible results.
