RESEARCH ON PROBLEMS OF HIGH ENTHALPY FLOWS.

Abstract

A series of studies on the physics of reentry were carried out at conditions simulating flight velocities ranging in excess of 50,000 feet per second. These efferts have largely centered on (1) radiative transfer effects in high temperature flows and (2) convective heat transfer in high enthalpy boundary layers. Both experimental and theoretical investigations have been carried out and a summary of this research is presented along with a complete listing of all publications and papers generated by this research.
