TEMPERATURE DETERMINATION IN COLD WALL VACUUM CHAMBER,

Abstract

The objectives of this test were to determine the ralative value of thermocouples as compared to 'stick-on'variable resistance type temperature transducers for use in measuring test specimen skin temperatures in the vacuum/cold wall environment, to determine a reliable and practical method of mounting thermocouples and 'stick-on' resistance type temperature transducers to obtain accurate readings of test specimen surface temperatures in the vacuum/cold wall environment, and to determine the effect of a reflective heat shield surrounding flight type canisters.
