DEVICE FOR BURNING A FUEL IN A PULSATING STREAM,

Abstract

The invention involves a device for burning a fuel in a pulsating stream, which includes an ignition chamber equipped with fuel and air lines and a resonance tube. The distinguishing feature of the device is that to enhance the acoustic effect on the burning fuel and to increase the stability of the pulsating regime, the design of the ignition chamber is such that it consists of two cavities connected by narrow neck which form a dipole, and the resonance tube is mounted along the axis of one of the cavities so that the tube's inlet is in the central part of the neck. To ensure the thermal and acoustic treatment of a low-reactivity fuel prior to its feeding to the combustion area, the resonance tube is equipped with a concentric jacket, one end of which is open toward the ignition chamber and the other, closed, end of which is connected to the fuel line.
