ELECTROMAGNETIC FRICTION CLUTCH,

Abstract

This patent describes an electromagnetic friction clutch incorporating two half clutches mounted on bearings, a control coil, and an air impeller. In order to increase heat dissipatation and operational reliability, the impeller is arranged between control coil and the driving half clutch in the zone of maximum heat generation. Moreover, the bearings of both half-clutches are separated by heat-insulant layers from the half clutch parts subject to heating. The air conduction passages are arranged around one of the bearings, concentric to the control coil. (Author)
