ECONOMIC PROSPECTS OF THE REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM

Abstract

The recent publication of a quasi-official three-volume study of 'The Postwar Development of the Republic of Vietnam' raises important questions as to the prospects for a viable, independent, non-Communist Republic of Vietnam, and the roles which the United States may have to play in its development and protection in the 1970's. The study represents the most substantial effort so far on the part of both Americans and Vietnamese to bring together in coherent form their thoughts concerning the economic future of Vietnam.
