OPTIMIZATION OF A STANDARD LINEAR VISCOELASTIC MATERIAL FOR USE IN A SEAT BELT.

Abstract

It is shown that a properly designed viscoelastic seat-belt material could have a low stiffness at low strain rates while still affording considerable improvement in the maximum safe cruising speed in comparison with a linear elastic belt. (Author)
