DEFORMATION RESISTANCE AND STABILITY OF DEFORMATION DISTORTIONS OF CERMET ALLOYS,

Abstract

The deformation characteristics of nickel-aluminum oxide cermets, containing up to 5% aluminum oxide were examined. The effect on hardness of aluminum oxide particle size and distribution is examined as are the effects of temperature changes. Comparison with the deformation resistance of sintered nickel is made, the conclusion being that a nickel cermet containing the alpha-modification of aluminum oxide is superior.
