THERMODYNAMICS OF TITANIUM ALLOYS.

Abstract

The thermodynamic properties in the body-centered cubic beta-phase of the Ti-Al, Ti-Cu and Ti-Mo binary systems were measured using the triple Knudsen cell technique coupled with a time-of-flight mass spectrometer. The Ti-Cu and Ti-Mo systems show positive deviation from ideality, whereas the Ti-Al system shows negative deviation. The results were used to develop a theory to describe the alloying behavior of Titanium. (Author)
