THE CARBON-BROMINE STRETCHING FREQUENCIES OF MONO-AND DI-BROMONORBORNANES.
Abstract
The infrared spectra of mono- and di-bromonorbornanes have been studied. Mild interactions with the rigid and strained norbornane structure have been observed. The absorption frequencies range between 550-650/cm. Vibration frequencies are affected by steric factors, the electronic effect, the field effect and molecular orbital overlap. (Author)
