DESIGN OF AN ANALOG INPUT TERMINAL FOR A TIMESHARED COMPUTER.
Abstract
A system using timesharing is proposed as an alternative to using a small single purpose computer to make measurements, perform calculationg and display results. A preliminary feasibility study involving both cost analysis and determination of data requirements is performed. Based on the feasibility study, a device is designed to handle 4 channels of analog DC. voltages with a capacity to make a full set of measurements every 12 seconds. The output is serial ASC11 compatible with GE 635 BASIC. (Author)
