REPORT OF THE 1966/1967 TEST FIRINGS PROJECT HARP
Abstract
The report is a review and analysis of results of the test firings of Project HARP from the Barbados 16-inch gun during 1966 and 1967 until the 30th of June. Fifty-nine rounds were fired during the report period. Thirty-five of these (i.e. the majority of shots) carried TMA release payloads on Martlet 2C (Mod. 2) vehicles. Five further rounds with Martlet 2C vehicles had the purpose of testing the sea impact device, telemetry packages, and Langmuir probes, whereas nine rounds were vehicle development tests. The remaining ten rounds were launch engineering test firings of slugs. The present report discusses the general results of the firings, and gives the detailed performance dats of all rounds, the radar trajectory data, and the wind data. It concludes the series of reports on Project HARP firings from the Barbados 16-inch gun.
