VISIBILITY IMPROVEMENT GRAPHS: A SYNOPTIC CLIMATOLOGICAL FORECAST AID.
Abstract
The paper describes a new technique for producing a useful synoptic climatological forecast aid which is different from the conventional climatological product. Data is limited to a specific weather element (radiation fog) associated with a specific synoptic weather regime. Thus, it is probably the first true synoptic climatological forecast tool. Its superiority over aids which do not take the synoptic pattern into account is clearly evident. (Author)
