STUDIES IN TANTALUM OXIDE CRYSTAL GROWTH.
Abstract
Crystals of beta-Ta2O5 and gamma-Nb2O5 have been grown from molten KPO3 and mixtures of KPO3 and KVO3. A search for additional polymorphs of beta-Ta2O5 in this system has instead revealed five not hitherto reported tantalum compounds containing potassium or phosphorus or both and, in one case, vanadium.
