ELECTRONIC COMPUTERS. PUNCH TAPE INPUT DEVICES. GOVERNMENT STANDARDS.

Abstract

Punch tape input devices of electronic computers must be designed to meet government standards (GOST 13051-67). These requirements include: operating temperatures, humidity and air pressure ranges as well as specifications for the tape, the insulation, interference, etc. Testing for conformity to these requirements is outlined in detail. A thorough check must be made periodically as well as the production testing during manufacture. Requirements for labelling, packing, transport and storage are given in detail.
