HIGH TEMPERATURE REACTIONS OF SUBSTITUTED PYRROLES.

Abstract

Research was undertaken to elucidate product formation and the reaction path followed in the thermally-induced isomerization of N-substituted pyrroles. Various parameters such as the effect of substituents (pyrrole-ring substituents and migrating-group substituents) on migration aptitudes, on product distribution and on reaction rate were investigated. The study of a reaction in which the potential migrating group is optically active was proposed in order to determine the nature of migration process. (Author)
