INVESTIGATION OF THE DISTRIBUTION OF CHARGES FOR 'FREE' SHORT-LIVED RADON DECAY PRODUCTS (Izuchenie Raspredeleniya Zaryadov dlya 'Svobodnykh' Korotkozhivyushchikh Produktov Raspada Radona),

Abstract

A review of published literature shows that the short-lived products of radon decay can exist in two states: elementary ions or 'free' atoms (uncombined atoms), and atoms deposited on aerosol particles found in the air. There are two methods for determining the content of 'free' atoms in the air: Precipitation by diffusion and in an electrical field. The present article contains the results of a study of the distribution of charges among the 'free' products of radon decay under various conditions of their existence.
