THE EVALUATION OF EXPERIMENTAL FABRICS AS ALTERNATES FOR STANDARD WOOL FABRICS

Abstract

A small scale field test has been carried out to assess the improvement in protection against cold that can be expected from using vapor barrier films over certain parts of the underwear of the standard combat cold weather ensemble. Both the experimental techniques and the data handling methods used in the test appear to have general value for other cold weather field studies of clothing comfort.
