RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TOUGHNESS, TENSILE, AND COLD BRITTLENESS FOR UNREINFORCED BALLOON FILMS.

Abstract

The investigation was to consider a combination of the toughness test (falling-ball type per Specification MIL-P-4640A) with the cold-brittleness test (ski-ball per Specification MIL-P-4640A). The idea was to conduct the falling-ball test at low temperature, measuring the energy absorbed by the film as it was ruptured by the falling ball. (Author)
