PIEZOJUNCTION SENSOR/TRANSDUCERS.

Abstract

The piezojunction effect in silicon p-n junctions can provide extremely sensitive miniature sensor/transducer devices that respond to pressure, acceleration and seismic signals. The devices would provide the practical advantages of low cost, light weight, dime-size, low power requirements, and large dynamic range. Possible applications include: force transducers, pressure sensors, geophones, strain gauges, altimeters, fuel cell sensors, velocity meters, and accelerometers. (Author)
