LONG-LIVED OPTICAL MEMORY UNIT,

Abstract

The long-lived optical memory unit, containing a continuous laser that is spatially commuted and modulated in intensity, a system for converting the position of the reference beam into a code with a coding screen block and a matrix photoreceiver of parallel action, a receiver of images of code pictures, an information carrier admitting recording in its volume and nondisruptive reading of holographic pictures, and a multichannel inverter of optical signals providing associative search of information, is distinguished by the fact that for purposes of increasing the capacity and speed and also reducing the scale of the device, it contains a supplementary lens screen with elements that are mirror images to the screen of the coding block, a reproduction objective with a volumetric carrier placed between its symmetric halves, a projecting image of the supplementary screen onto the screen of the coding block, and a matrix light-valve device of parallel action with a supplementary lens screen and aggregate, which provides for obtaining a code image in light beams that are coherent with a reference beam upon illuminating the entire volume of the carrier and a mechanical commutator for discrete displacement of the carrier with respect to three independent three-dimensional coordinates.
