DYNAMICS OF FORMATION OF COMPLEMENT-FIXING ANTIBODIES TO C. BURNETII IN WILD ANIMALS IN A NATURAL FOCUS OF Q FEVER AND UNDER EXPERIMENTAL CONDITIONS,

Abstract

Following experimental infection of bank and red-backed voles with C.burneti, complement-fixing antibodies appeared by day 10. The titer rose by day 30, but fell by day 70. Study of the dynamics of antibody-formation in bank and red-backed voles as a result of natural immunization in a natural focus showed that antibodies to C.burneti appeared in most of the animals for the first time in July. The titers were highest at the end of August. In most of the voles in which antibodies were found during the first or second examination, the antibody titers rose thereafter. (Author)
