WAVE PROPAGATION IN A LINEAR COSSERAT CONTINUUM.

Abstract

The equations relevant to wave propagation in a linear Cosserat continuum are reviewed and the possible plane wave solutions of these equations are considered. The various types of surface wave which may propagate are then discussed. (Author)
