VOICE-OPERATED GAIN-ADJUSTING AUTOMATIC VOLUME-LIMITING AMPLIFIER,

Abstract

An introductory discussion is given of the voice-operated gain-adjusting device (vogad) used to maintain a constant speech output level in long-distance radio telephony. The operating principle of the device consists of three circuit sections: (1) communication, (2) control feedback, and (3) syllabic detection feedback.
