A PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING A PLASTIC LUBRICANT,

Abstract

A method is given for preparing a plastic grease by thickening the dispersion medium with a saponaceous thickening agent. To improve the quality of the grease, it is supplemented by a thoroughly oxidized paraffin with a maximum content of 8 percent of unsaturated hydrocarbons. The description specifies an addition of 5-8 percent weight percent of the thoroughly oxidized paraffin. For better quality of the plastic grease, the above paraffin is extracted with an aqueous solution of low-molecular carboxylic acids prior to its addition to the greast. (Author)
