FINAL REPORT, CONTRACT N62306-69-C-0099 VOLUME II: APPENDICES.
Abstract
Appendix I of this volume is an evaluation of present and future prediction capability for sea state and sea surface temperature for application to studies under this contract. The limitations on current predictive capability are discussed, and estimates made of the range of errors in wave height predictions as a function of sea state for current and future capabilities. Information is also presented on current and expected future capabilities in sea surface temperature prediction. Appendix II is a description, including a source deck listing, of the ASW Opposed Transit (ASWOT) model. This computer program will simulate transits over specified tracks of single ships or escorted convoys that are opposed by nuclear or conventional submarines. Wave heights and directions are inputted at grid points, and sonar parameters are inputted for defined domains. (Author)
