REVERSING BINARY-CODED-DECIMAL COUNTER WITH INCREASED RESPONSE SPEED,

Abstract

The reversing binary-coded-decimal counter uses a comparatively simple circuit and has increased resolution, the latter defined only by the response speed of the trigger cells. A distinctive feature of the counter is the fact that two different modifications of the self-complementary binary-decimal 2421 code are used in it for addition and subtraction. On a change in counting direction, it switches automatically from one modification to the other. (Author)
